The tree
Today my new Red (Crimson) Maple tree was planted. It certainly is scrawnier than I had hoped, but it will grow. I hope that my shade plants will do all right until it matures some!
This poor tree has some bad karma with it. It was planted because my new next door neighbors cut down many of their perfectly healthy trees, including one that overhung part of our side yard. Some years ago I decided to reclaim the ground under it, where nothing much was growing. I planted foam plants, an azalea and some others. Some took, others did not. A friend gave me a hydrangea, which another friend planted for me. It is hanging in there.
Anyway, as the tree was about to be planted, my sister-on-law shows up. I do not like her, reasons why not to be explained here! I ignored her. Damn! Why did she have to spoil the moment? I wanted to take some pictures of the guys planting the tree, but I had to run to the bank to get some money, and, when I got back, it was in the ground! (And my sister-in-law was still in the house. Grrrrr.)
Oh, well I will take a picture anyway.
I also washed out my window box pots today and bought more soil and 2 new plants. Tomorrow, hopefully, I will plant the boxes.
